Testimonials
Hunter MacFarlane
My daughter has been attending Dr Borovay's Office for many years and while the procedure she underwent required constant monitoring, it never failed to impress me how much she enjoyed her visits, never offering any resistance to attending. I think that speaks volumes about Dr Borovay and his staff, always professional always friendly... Hunter has always enjoyed her Christmas card from the staff... a nice touch. [...]

Our Services
Borovary Orthodontics has treated thousands of children, teenagers and adults since 1977 to improve the function of their bite. Improving the bite translates to great smiles! And while smiles are important to us too, it's striving for optimal function that gets us to the practice every morning!
At your first visit to our offices, you'll notice the brightly lit and welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff. At this initial visit, our treatment coordinator, Janet, will take a series of digital photographs and Dr. Borovay will conduct a thorough assessment. We'll tell you at the end of this whether orthodontic treatment is appropriate now, soon or much later, in one phase or two. Make sure we explain the pros and cons of the recommendation to your complete satisfaction. We want you to be absolutely comfortable with it and the reasoning behind it.
If Dr. Borovay concludes that treatment should be started immediately, you'll be invited to schedule an appointment to complete a full set of orthodontic records. This includes special x-rays, study models of your bite, and video imaging. All of which is used to explore specific treatment options. A follow-up appointment with Janet is then scheduled to review the recommendation in detail.
When starting treatment is not recommended immediately, you'll be invited to come in at regular intervals for monitoring. Patients in our monitoring phase aren't charged until treatment begins. When to start treatment is by no means an exact science and is informed by experience and by keeping abreast of the literature. Once in treatment, regular visits are scheduled every 4-8 weeks to adjust the braces (or appliances) and
monitor progress. Typically, treatment takes anywhere between 18 months to three years to arrive at the best function and aesthetics that we can achieve for you. Many factors affect the rate of progress and length of treatment. We'd be delighted to explain and discuss this further in person!
At a regular check-up, you'll first check-in at the terminal by the front door. After a short wait, the next person you are likely to see will be the orthodontic assistants who will take a quick look for broken brackets and remove any items scheduled to be adjusted. By the way, parents are welcome to accompany their children, or to stay in the reception area. Whatever works best for you. Then Dr. Borovay comes by to examine your progress and decide on the treatment needed for the visit. Other times, clear instructions will have been preprared in your chart for this visit ahead of time. At some visits new wires that shape your teeth alignment will be placed and tailored specifically for your dental arch anatomy by Dr Borovary.
Once everything has been added or adjusted, you're done. On your way out, don't forget to stop by Lillian's desk to schedule your next visit.
Dr Borovay and the staff look forward to welcoming you at the office.
